Mistake Socks

I don't post very often and now I'm doing three posts in one day.  Guess that's because I'm working on documenting those finished undocumented projects.

These are my mistake socks.  Do you see it?

You got it!  I wasn't paying any attention to the first sock or the pattern when I continued knitting on down the second sock and didn't follow the pattern and put the cable on down to the toe.  And such nice yarn and a good pattern.  I was actually ready to start the toe decreases when I realized what I had done.  Ripping it back was not an option.  It's packed and ready to go to the cabin.  These socks will find their way to some cold feet to keep warm next winter.  And those feet won't even care that the cable is not there.

You can find the project details in the Photo Gallery or at Ravelry.

I like these socks.  I like the pattern.  They are a little snug on me, but it a good pattern. Looking for a smaller, cold foot.

Frogged

The new projects that I started back in March....the black shawl out of super fine yarn has been frogged.  After many hours of knitting and not much happiness with the project, I made the decision not to invest any more time on that project.  It was ripped out last night and a new shawl was cast on.

I quickly knit up these socks for my mom when she arrived in Michigan.  She forgot to bring all her hand knit socks back to Michigan and her feet are constantly cold.  I knit these out of a worsted weight to give her a little more warmth.  She wears these to bed every night.  I also given her two pair knit out of sock yarn so hopefully that will keep her feet warm until warmer temps arrive.  Pattern and yarn details are in the photo gallery or at Ravelry.

Changes in TypePad

I do have a couple of pairs of socks finished, but don't have pictures takes yet.  Maybe tomorrow.  I really just logged in to see what changes have been made in TypePad.

Ankle Socks

I had a couple of balls of Cascade Fixation without a project in mind so I got some ideas from Ravelry.  I found the pattern, Cascade Fixation Ankle Socks which were written for an 8 1/2 narrow foot.  Perfect for my mom.  However, I think they will be too short.  I had less an 12" of yarn left so I really couldn't have made them any longer.  Oh well.  They will fit somebody.
