London Beanie for Trevor

The one on the left turned out to be a little short--didn't quite cover the ears.  I added a little length and it fits an 18 month old just perfect.  I cast on 80 stitches using a #6.  Now if he would just keep it on.

The first home will be added to the hat and mitten tree at our church.

Three posts in one day!  I'm trying to get my desk cleaned off and all my knitting projects documented before we head to Paradise for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Christmas Gift, 2007

I think I've lost track of the number of Christmas gifts I knitted so far this year.  These are for a good friend. I knit these using two circs.  I wasn't sure which method I like better--circs or dpns.  I do know that I like to travel with two circs.  Have you ever dropped a size 2 dpn while seated on a airplane?  You disturb the entire row to look for the needle.  Don't have that problem with circs.

I should mention that the yarn Fortissima Soca is 25% bamboo.  I'm anxious to knit some of these for myself.  Wonder how they'll feel and wear.  'Tis the season to be gifting.

Chemo #7

This is a wool hat--intended to keep the head warm.  This is Everyone's Favorite Hat by Evelyn Clark, Fiber Trends.  I've knit this pattern before and personally like the fit.

A Beanie for Trevor

Got a request to knit a hat for my grandson.  Something to match a brown and orange fleece.  Followed the London Beanie pattern without the striping.  He's 18 months and pulls the cap off as soon as someone puts it on him.

Basic Dishcloth - Grandma's Favorite

Trips to the cabin always involve kitchen cotten.  Very easy.  I usually buy the large cone unless I'm tempted by the colors of the smaller skeins.  Everybody loves these dishcloths.  They make excellent hostess gifts.

Chemo #5 and #6

These were actually the first two chemo caps that I knit for Brandy.  I found out about her cancer when we were in Paradise in October.  I had some #7s with me so I went to the LYS and bought a couple of skeins of yarn so I could get busy.

These caps were both knit using the Very Easy Hat to Knit by Dovetail Designs, using a #7.

Chemo #4

Is this a chemo cap or a golf club cover?   A chemo cap.  But, it sure does look like a golf club cover.  Good thing is that it looks much better sitting on a head instead of how it looks in this photo.

Chemo #3

I have a number of projects to add to Ravelry and post on the blog, but I never stay home long enough to get it all done.  Just returned from my annual trek to FL to settle my mom for the winter.  She's been a "snowbird" for over 25 years.  Gone a week, home for a week, and will soon be heading back to Paradise to spend the Thanksgiving holiday.

As long as I'm in town, I'll try to add one project a day until I get caught up.

I think I would have liked this hat better had it been a little more "hairy".  The patient has two young sons and I know the boys have had fun with this hat.   The pattern is from Head Huggers.

Baby Socks

Trevor's Christmas socks match the ones I knit for his mom.  This is a good way to use up the left over socks yarn.  Details in the 2007 Gallery.

This pattern is VERY EASY Hat to Knit and it makes a nice fitting chemo cap.  Details in the Photo Gallery and more details on Ravelry.  Look me up -- paradiseknitter

I recently purchased a new camera and Photoshop and I'm struggling with getting it right.  I really need to take some time and learn or take some classes.  If you look at my photos on Flickr and Ravelry, I'm all over the place.
