Chemo Caps

It seems that I've been knitting too many chemo caps.  Last winter it was my brother, the winter before that, it was a friend and now this.  While in Paradise, I received word that the 30 year old daughter of a very good friend of mind had cancer and was starting chemo immediately.  I went to the local yarn store bought a few miscellaneous skeins and a size 7 needle and started in.

The first is the rolled brin chemo cap by Head Huggers.

Sewing in Paradise

On our recent stay at the cabin I focused more on sewing rather than knitting.  We had a rainy week so I was glad to have been sewing.  Sewing allows for more body movement back and forth from iron to cutting table to machine.  Here are my projects....

Knitting in Paradise

I'm off to Paradise to rest, relax, read, knit, sew, bead and enjoy nature.  This photo is of Tahquamenon Falls which is just up the river a few miles from our cabin.

Sleeping Socks

I was a little disappointed in how these turned out.  I had intended them to be for my mom  (who always has cold feet) for Christmas.  However, they are small.  More appropriate for a youngster.  In the photo, you can see that the one on the left looks larger.  I stretched it to get it on.  I need to give them another soak to get them back to match in size.

Christmas Gift #4, 2007

These socks could also be called the Game Day Socks.  I saw this yarn on Rob's blog (Threadbear) and it seemed only appropriate that my son have a pair since this year is about knitting Christmas socks and he is a graduate of Michigan State University.

You can see some project details in my Photo Albums or even more details over at Ravelry.  Look me up at paradiseknitter.

Christmas Gift #3, 2007

Everybody wants socks for Christmas.  This is the third pair.  Two daughters and daughter in law are checked off the list.  This is the first pattern that I've knit from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks.  First socks that I've knit using Bearfoot.  Love the yarn.

Traveling Vines for Jennifer

I'm not working much, so I don't really know why I don't post too often.  It certainly isn't because I don't have the time.  I'm down to the final 200 hours on my consulting contract and I'm only working about one day a week.  When I worked full time and had three children at home, I was much more organized.  I travel more, relax more, socialize more and always put off household chores until tomorrow.

I knit this wrap for my  daughter back in August.  The original intent was for her to wear it to a over her shoulders to a wedding.  I don't remember why, but she didn't go the wedding so I don't think she's worn it yet.  But a black, lace wrap is a staple for a young woman.

I finally got my Ravelry invite two weeks ago so this project is my first project entered.  I haven't spent much time there yet, but I will.
