Knitting in Paradise: July 2007

Gosh, it's been almost 2 months since I've logged into typepad. I'm knitting a little and keeping up with some blog reading. I was traveling all of June and guess it's taken the first half of July to catch up from being gone so much.

My husband and I traveled to Montana with some friends during the first part of June. I was home just long enough to do laundry and pack again. I then traveled with my brother to Europe. One of these days I'll post some pictures. I do have some beautiful shots, but am still behind on getting my photos organized. I've yet to do anything with the pictures from our Hawaii trip and that was back in February. One of these days, I'll get caught up.

Back to the knitting. This is Christmas gift #1, 2007. Basic socks. Being able to gift socks is something that I've not been able to do easily. I am selfish with the socks. I like to add them to my own sock collection, but I think I'm getting over that hurdle.

I knit these from the top down and thought I had a matching pair. If you look at the next close up shot, you'll see where things went wrong. I'm blaming in on the yarn and not the knitter.
